• How many garage doors can each GoTailwind tailwind control and monitor?

  Each iQ3 module can control and monitor up to 3 garage doors from GoTailwind. It comes with 1 garage door wiring kit. To control more doors, simply add the appropriate number of door kits to your order. So for example, if you have 2 garages, you will need to order 1 extra door kit. If you have 3 garages, you will need to order 2 additional door kits.

• GoTailwind automatically opens my garage as I approach. So what if someone steals my phone?

  That would be unfortunate since you would need to purchase a new phone, but even if a burglar were to know your home address, your garage door would remain closed. The proprietary technology of GoTailwind requires your mobile phone and your car to be connected for automatic operation, in contrast to all other alternatives on the market. In addition, you are always in charge and this function can be turned on or off at any time.

• What is the range of the GoTailwind tailwind?

  Range is actually a function of your wireless router. In their tests, they found that the range of GoTailwind met or exceeded the range of a typical wifi router. If you're wondering if it's available in your garage, just take your smartphone to the location and see if you have wifi. If you do, it should work there.

• Why does the GoTailwind app ask to track my location?

  GoTailwind's app needs to know when you're coming home and when you're leaving in order to automatically open or close the garage door for you. You can turn off these features in the app at any time. If you turn them off, the app doesn't need to track your location. However, automating your garage door so that it simply opens when you arrive home and automatically closes if you forget to close it when you leave are two really great features if you decide to not allow apps to track your position, you will lose both functions.
